Meet Your Captain - Alex Peraza
“I was born on land but raised on the water. It’s in my blood, it’s my passion, and now my career. Being a fishing guide was a dream for me since a young teenager and I always looked up to other Captains that were known for being some of the best fishing guides in the State of Florida. I’ve been fishing the Indian River Lagoon & St. Lucie river since I was about 10 years old. It started out on a 12ft fiberglass jon boat with a 9.9 Johnson 2 stroke tiller motor on it in the North and South Fork rivers of the treasure coast. I quickly realized how much I loved fishing and being out on the water. When I came across the elusive giant snook I was addicted to catching the biggest snook possible and did whatever it took to do it. By the time I was a sophomore in high school, I had a 1720 Key West that I took every where. From 15 miles offshore catching Sail fish, to deep in the North Fork of the St. Lucie River hunting big Snook. As of recently I guide out of my dream boat (Pathfinder 23’ HPS) hunting anything that boasts a challenge to me and my clients. Big Snook, Permit, Tarpon, Cobia, you name it, we go for it. The feeling of someone catching their first fish, or finally landing their personal best is the most satisfying experience and one of the main reason why I love my job so much.”
